well good job for breaking it off with your gf. but chances are, even if this hot girl you like and your gf aren't that close, she'll most likely say no to you pursuing her out of respect to your gf. i mean, it depends how much of a good friend she is and how much she likes you. you can try since you like her that much - but be aware you would be breaking up a friendship and hurting your gf doubly by first breaking up, then hitting on her friend. if i were you, i would approach casually. say i had a great time when you were hanging out here, and it would be a shame if we stop seeing each other because X and i broke up. what if you came out with me and my friends sometime? this will allow her to see you as being friendly and to accept your invite - and your gf can think you just found her cool and are asking her out in a friendly way. and her friend would be more likely to accept your invitation, as to immediately start dating you after you ditch her friend is something most girls won't do. good luck
