Fairly simple seperation of compounds...but I can't do it. =) ...?

Seems to me that you could do this using a separation funnel. Use a mixture of water and a volatile nonpolar solvent and add this mixture. Shake and partition the mixture between the two phases, and decant each phase into a separate beaker. Then evaporate in a fume hood and you should have your two compounds.
